8/20/25 – First Football Game This Friday

Thank you TIMB Volunteers!

A  BIG T-wolve thank you to some amazing TIMB volunteers.
–  Tiffany Do our uniform committee chair did an incredible job of organizing and running the uniform fitting this year.
–  Thank you to all the 50 students, parents, grandparents and MB friends that helped iron, hem and fit students.   You all fit over 220 kids in a 4 day period.
– Thank you Rosanne Bravo and Vivi Nguyen for creating a new way to feed pizza to over 220 kids in less than 5 minutes!  Very impressive!

First Football Game of the Season!

AWAY GAME THIS FRIDAY, AUGUST 22nd, NORTHWOOD VS. IRVINE at the IRVINE HIGH SCHOOL STADIUM.

  • Band staff/leadership/drumline/pit/tubas are all expected to UNLOAD the trucks back at NHS after the game.

PARENTS:

  • Please be ready to pick up your children when the game is over.
  • The director approved pick up location is the front parking lot off Walnut.

Parent Volunteers – We need you!

We need ALL parents to volunteer to make this year a fun and successful season for all 220+ MB and CG students.  We have options that can fit everyone’s schedule.  Just sign up for the time you have.  You can volunteer to help out with uniforms after the game if you cannot get off work in time to be there before the game.  You can also make a night of it and sign up to help out with stadium prep when you drop your student off at Irvine high, then help out with food after the half time show and cap the evening off with volunteering for uniforms.  If that is too much excitement, you can volunteer to drive a truck with Mike Anderson and get to the stadium early to get a seat and cheer on the football team and watch the half time show.  Thank you.

Stadium Prep Sign up here.  https://bit.ly/4f3n782
Committee Chair Richard Nelson.

Before the game, volunteers will clean and prepare the stadium bleachers for the students.  For home games this includes putting white paper down on the bleachers to help keep the uniforms clean.  Volunteers also put signs up designating the area that the MB and CG will be sitting so that other patrons do not sit in this section.  They also help keep the water jugs filled during the game especially on the hot days.  After the game, the volunteers pick up any signs and papers on the bleachers.  The best part of this job is that you get to pick your seat in the stadium before most people arrive!

Uniforms at the Games https://bit.ly/25TIMBUniformVolunteersatGames
Committee Chair Tiffany Do.

The volunteers help organize the uniforms and shakos prior to the game.  After the game, the volunteers are their to assist the students in getting the uniforms back in the garment bags and on the racks.  On the special games like homecoming and senior recognition the parents get to help with the plumes!  You can sign up for before the game, after the game or both!  The best part of helping with uniforms is that you get to be in the middle of all the action and see everything come to life!

Food https://bit.ly/25TIMBFoodVolunteers
Committee Chair  Xerxes Commissariat

The volunteers help pass out the food and snacks to the students in assembly line fashion after half time.  The volunteers will also help pick up trash after the students have been fed.  We also need 1 – 2 volunteers each game to take food out to Pit who will eat their meal outside the stadium by the Pit Truck.  On occasion, we need volunteers to pick up the food and deliver it to the stadium.    The best part about serving the food is that you get to be on the field with the kids and experience their excitement and energy.

Transportation https://bit.ly/25TIMBTransportationVolunteers
Committee Chair:  Mike Anderson

Transport band equipment & uniforms in either a 16′ or 26’ trucks, no special license needed. On game day, we need drivers to help pick up the trucks at Penske at 6:30am and in the afternoon meet at NHS around 5 pm to drive the trucks on Irvine high and then return the trucks to Penske at 10-11pm. You don’t have to do all the shifts.  Just sign up with what works best for your schedule – early morning, afternoon, late night!  The best part of this job is that you will be considered the hero of the marching band volunteers and you get to the games early to grab a good seat!

Spirit Wear https://bit.ly/25SpiritwearVolunteers
Committee Chairs:  Liza Choi and Marshall Wang
Help sell spirit wear at football games and events throughout the year.  The Volunteers will set up a table inside the stadium by the entrance and sell instrumental music fanware and spiritwear.  The volunteers will sell the spiritwear until just before half time.  Don’t worry this volunteer job won’t prevent you from watching the show!  The best part of this job you are helping TIMB make money to support the marching band program and get a front row seat to the game!

Photography https://bit.ly/25TIMBPhotoVolunteers
Committee Chair:  John Haymes.

Take pictures and video of the games and the half time performances.  This is always a favorite job for parents.  Best part of this job is that you get to be on the field in the middle of the action to help capture these moments for the memories!

TIMB Marching Band Donation
It is not too late to make your TIMB Marching Band Donation of $130.  Donations can be made here.  https://bit.ly/2025TIMBMarchingBandDonation.  Thank you!!

DOROTHY VAN PATTEN-WELLS MEMORIAL FUND
Dorothy Van Patten-Wells was an ardent advocate, supporter, and patron of the arts. Her dedication was particularly evident in her unwavering support of various high school music programs, particularly the Northwood High School Instrumental Music Program, which her son, Brad, co-founded.

Even after Brad assumed a district-level position, Dorothy continued to attend Northwood concerts, musicals, and celebrated the profound impact these experiences had on the lives of young individuals. To honor her legacy and perpetuate her commitment, the Van Patten Family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Northwood High School Instrumental Music Program. These donations will assist the students in continuing to benefit from the opportunities that Dorothy held so dear. To donate, please click HERE.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR KMA DONATIONS!
In addition to supporting our music program, donors to our Keep Music Alive program receive concert ticket vouchers, program recognition and early entry to concerts. Read more about KMA HERE, and donate online today!
