Northwood High School Marching Band and Color Guard
“The Wall of Sound”
Northwood’s Marching Band and Color Guard, dubbed “The Wall of Sound” is the largest student group on Northwood’s campus. With over 225 students in the Timberwolf Marching family, Marching Band and Color Guard are a great way to make friends, build connections, and have a place to call home on Northwood’s Campus.
Marching Band & Color Guard’s Fall season runs from August to November with football games, pep rallies, marching tournament, Irvine Unified’s Band Spectacular, and pep band opportunities.
Band Camp runs two weeks before school starts and is required for all students who would like to enroll in Marching Band and Color Guard for the school year.
Regular rehearsals during the school year will begin at 7:30am, before school. Rehearsals will continue through the end of football season.*
*Drum line, Pit, Color Guard have MANDATORY weekly sectionals.
Performances include:
- Kick-off Celebration
- First Day of School Performance (during school hours)
- Home Football Games
- Irvine Band Spectacular at Irvine High Stadium
- Irvine Field Tournament at TBD
- Potential field trips
2026 Band Camp Dates
2026 Marching Band Camp (ALL Members): August 6th & & 7th, August 10th – 13th 9:00am – 4:00pm
Percussion (Drum line and Pit): August 3rd – 8:00am – 1:30pm, August 4th 8:00am – 1:30pm*, August 5th 8:00am – 3:30pm
*August 4th, Drum Line and Pit Leadership MUST attend Leadership Camp from 1:30pm – 3:30pm
Color Guard: August 3rd, 4th, & 5th 9:00am – 11:00am
Library Staff: August 3rd 8:00am – 11:00am
Leadership: August 4th & 5th 9:00am – 3:30pm
NEW MEMBERS DAY: August 5th 12:30pm – 3:30pm (Meet in Room 501)
All Camp Meeting
August 5th at 6:00pm in NHS Theater
Kick-Off Performance
August 13th at 6:00pm

Want to join Marching Band or Color Guard? Marching Band students will also need to be enrolled in one of the core instrumental performance ensemble classes (band or orchestra). Speak to one of the directors to get started for next year.
